First Whisper the Wolf speedrun on the channel! Honestly, she's a lot of fun to play; I'm surprised I didn't do something with her sooner! I've had her for a while at this point! This run was awful. It was literally my second attempt, and I still had a bad time. I didn't have time to get a better one, unfortunately, so this is what we get. I don't know when I'll try for a better one, but I know that I will, because this is not even to my standard; my ego won't allow this to stand as my personal best for too long. Generally being bad at Metal Knuckles aside, I just really don't know the Knuckles routes, and more importantly, which ones Metal can skip, because Knuckles routes suck, which is a factor in why speedrunners don't like Knuckles. Metal Knuckles, for all that he takes from Metal Sonic, still carries Knuckles's biggest flaw – he has the lowest jump height among the vanilla characters – so if I want a better time with this character, I'm going to have to learn some routes I don't normally take. Also, I didn't even know the door at the beginning of ERZ2 could kill you. That's news to me. This level is pretty fun to wall kick across with Jana, in my opinion. Your mileage may vary. Other characters definitely have their own routes through it, though. I bet Tails could even spinfly faster than this. Metal Knuckles speedrun, go! This was fun, even though I was under a little IRL time pressure. Unfortunately, I am still extremely clumsy with Metal Knuckles, but I still think I got an alright time. Not better than my Metal Sonic, of course, but alright nonetheless; if I did do better than Metal Sonic, I would have to go back and run Metal Sonic better. Haha! Slaying a personal demon again. I would love to pick up where my friends and I left off in co-op, but we just don't seem to have the time anymore as a collective. After running this level with Jana, I decided to do it again with one of my mains. Did significantly better! The route I took was faster, though I've got doubts Jana could take it if she even wanted to; the Lava Reef route seemed to be her best route. Yep, we're back at the first Sol Sestancia again, and this time I clumsily play a character I like but don't know very well, especially compared to my staples Metal Sonic and BluEyes. But I love Mega Man Zero, and Jana from StephChars captures the spirit of that series pretty well in the context of Sonic Robo Blast 2 while remaining fairly distinct; as similar as she plays to him, Jana is not Zero. Unfortunately for me, it's a little harder to avoid damage with her in these levels compared to relatively normal Sonic characters, OCs or otherwise, so I take a lot of what is probably avoidable damage, slowing me down. In spite of this, I did better than my previous best as Metal Sonic, so I'm not complaining too much. I just know there's a lot of potential for a far better time with Jana than I got here.
