I finally did it; I recorded a full game run for Metal Sonic! God, this guy is hard to play, even though he's my favorite vanilla character. Despite my challenges, though, I did end up slightly faster than my current (as of this posting) Millie Any% run, which surprised me.
I opted to take some relatively safe lines in the early part of the game, because among other things, I got sick of trying for the speed shoes in GFZ1 and I just don't think that level of optimization actually matters yet. Maybe I'll hit that and other optimizations in future runs, but for now, no thank you.
